This is some work in progress from my master’s thesis for the MFA in Comics program at California College of the Arts. What you’re reading is a snippet of a larger project that will turn into my first graphic memoir titled, “Morena”. This is based on the first time I traveled to El Salvador to find answers about my Salvadoran heritage after years of distancing myself from this part of my identity due to myths created by the U.S. media and among others outside of the Salvadoran community.

A little compilation between two zine projects Being Half Guatemalan and Being Half Salvi that are combined into one series titled Half and Half. This collection of autobio comic strips gives you a sneak peek into my life as an Afrolatinx person within the Central American isthmus in the Bay Area.

Spiritual And Different Issue 1

La Matriarca (Excerpt)
This is a snippet from a scene where we walk through a moment with my younger self looking through family photos; and then eventually transition into a flashback to when I first met my grandmother from El Salvador.
